SEAL

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

SEAL Seal is looking for a foster home or forever home. 💗 Our center in Klepp is actually only for stray cats but suddenly one seal sneaked in :)) The tough guy SEAL was found and reported with his head and a front leg stuck in a plastic lid which had to be cut off by a vet. He was very scared when he came to the center but with time, socialization and Calm food which helps stressed cats he came out of his shell and started to purr 🤍 Now Seal is a calm and wise gentleman who turns into a happy kitten as soon as he finds a toy. Catnip is top notch and he loves to snuggle with other cats, he doesn't want to be held yet but he is getting closer, and seems to think life is quite good for now 🤍 Seal was born around May 2020. Likes: play, cat cuddles, catnip. Dislikes: hands that are too close, plastic lids. We are looking for an experienced foster home or forever home for this handsome guy! Must have courage, patience and enough time to let him become completely secure at his own pace. Will YOU help us?

Vil DU hjelpe oss? Ta konta

About SEAL

What life with SEAL looks like

SEAL is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Lucas Dyrevern in Stavanger.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting SEAL, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about SEAL?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Lucas Dyrevern handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SEAL on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt SEAL if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Lucas Dyrevern will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is SEAL already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if SEAL isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Lucas Dyrevern early rather than rehoming privately; they know SEAL and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
