The life of Sebastian hasn't been easy. Captured when he was still a puppy, he was confined to a high-density dog shelter in Puglia, a place where he couldn't experience the fundamental things needed for a healthy and serene growth. He experienced fear, competition, and uncertainty, sharing a cage with many other dogs and learning to defend himself from the world. He grew up in a place where there was a lack of attention and delicacy that every dog should receive. The cages were cleaned with powerful water jets without the dogs being moved, and human contact was more about management than a relationship. For a long time, water and people represented something to fear, not to welcome, for him. The traces of that past remained visible for a long time: suspicion and difficulty in accepting contact and manipulation. After an adoption that didn't work out, he was transferred to a dog shelter in the province of Rome, until he arrived with us, where he has lived for many years.

La vita di Sebastian non è stata semplice. Accalappiato quando era ancora un cucciolo, è stato rinchiuso in un canile ad altissima densità in Puglia, un luogo dove non ha potuto vivere le esperienze fondamentali per una crescita sana e serena. Ha conosciuto la paura, la competizione e l’incertezza, condividendo il box con molti altri cani e imparando presto a difendersi dal mondo. È cresciuto in un luogo dove mancavano le attenzioni e la delicatezza che ogni cane dovrebbe ricevere. I box venivano puliti con potenti getti d’acqua senza che i cani venissero spostati e il contatto umano era vissuto più come una gestione che come una relazione, per questo, per molto tempo, l’acqua e le persone hanno rappresentato per lui qualcosa da temere, non da accogliere. Le tracce di quel passato sono rimaste a lungo visibili: diffidenza e difficoltà ad accettare il contatto e la manipolazione. Dopo un’adozione non andata a buon fine è stato trasferito in un canile in provincia di Roma, fino ad arrivare da noi, dove vive ormai da molti anni.
