Sencha

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Gender: female Age: born around March 2013 (approximate date) Size: small to medium (14.1 kg) Date of arrival at the shelter: March 2023 Spayed: yes Vaccinated: yes Microchipped: yes Compatibility: okay with dogs Temperament: fearful Progress: July 19, 2026: Sencha loves cuddles; she asks for scratches on the lower back—that’s her weak spot. As for walks, it’s still not great—she’s very afraid of the leash and doesn’t feel entirely comfortable around my other dogs. However, she has the choice between her room and the living room; this weekend, she stayed with us. She’s adorable. July 14, 2026: It’s already been a month since she’s been home. She goes by herself onto the terrace to get some fresh air or relieve herself, then returns to her room. She still tends to stay fairly isolated, but there’s improvement. She’s happy to see me now because she knows she’ll get a treat or her food bowl. Today, I took her out into the residential area—she was very scared, but she did her business and explored new smells. I’ll start taking her out once a day, maybe every other day, because the leash is still a bit tricky. July 4, 2026: News about our lovely Sencha—there’s not much progress, except that she’s starting to wag her tail and whine when she sees me; she knows she’s going to get food. For the past week, I’ve been trying to let her onto my terrace every evening. It’s been tricky, but with pâté, it works. At first, she barked at all my dogs, but she still came into the living room by herself after being on the terrace (all rooms have access to the terrace). Last night, she seemed a bit more relaxed around the dogs, and eventually she came into the living room. I fell asleep on the sofa, and she stayed with us all night. She still doesn’t move around on her own yet, but that’ll come. I’m giving her a little more time before really starting to take her out, because the leash is still not quite right. June 8, 2026: Let herself be petted by Emilie. Fearful upon arrival (late March 2023). History: found wandering; she’s blind in one eye. Contact: Spayed: yes Vaccinated: yes Microchipped: yes Compatibility: okay with dogs Temperament: July 14, 2026: It’s already been a month since she’s been home. About Sencha

What life with Sencha looks like

Sencha is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Remember Me France in France.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sencha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sencha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Remember Me France handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sencha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sencha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Remember Me France will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sencha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sencha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Remember Me France early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sencha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
