adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Seppel has found his home! His story: "Moin moin" says Seppel.…a Romanian with a deep Bavarian name, stranded in the northernmost part of Germany…we find the best conditions for a colorful wonderful life! Seppel has lived in his foster home since March and has already integrated wonderfully. He learns here many things that a civilized family dog should know. He is house-trained, goes well on a leash, and knows the most important basic commands. The handsome young one is currently 7 months old and has already reached a large size. His big heart, which he shares with people and fellow animals, fits his size. With the male dog and the female dog of the foster family, Seppel gets along very well, he especially orientates himself strongly towards the female dog. Playing in the garden and begging for food together…that works better as a team than alone! The two children of the family find Seppel super, and he loves his foster parents very much. He enjoys their cuddles and seeks protection and security in their proximity. Seppel is very affectionate, needing a lot of security and warmth after his tough start in life. Of course, the male dog still has some insecurities that need to be worked on with positive reinforcement. Seppel is looking forward to attending dog training classes with his heart's desire. He is about to enter puberty and would like a little support…especially for his person ;). These dog training classes must work with positive reinforcement, that is a must! As a little puppy, the sensitive boy was found together with his brother Beethoven in an abandoned courtyard in Cluj. Alone and scared, the two had to assert themselves in an insecure environment. But despite this tough start in life, Seppel shows a remarkable resilience and a lovable nature. Perhaps there are herding dog genes in Seppel. Herding dogs are sensitive, independent thinkers that need to be raised with empathy and loving boundaries. Once you've known herding dogs or their mixes, you don't want any other dogs. Our young northern light is now searching for his heart's desire, who wants to live a colorful and fulfilling life with him. Seppel is vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed in his wonderful foster home, waiting for your visit. Of course, he also brings an EU pet passport with him! Many thanks to Anja S.! You gave Seppel his witty name! As of: 19.04.

Vielen Dank Anja S.! Du hast Seppel seinen witzigen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 19.04.2025

About Seppel

What life with Seppel looks like

Seppel is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Seppel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Seppel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Seppel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Seppel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Seppel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Seppel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Seppel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
