adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Serena has found her home! Her story: The little Serena was discovered together with her siblings Posy, Phillip, Colin, Simon, and Flynn as well as her mother outside a village. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon in Romania. Dogs are often left to fend for themselves when they are no longer wanted. We hope, however, that Serena will now have the chance to find a loving home. Currently, Serena is about 3 months old, roughly 30 cm tall, and truly a charming puppy. She is likely to grow into a small to medium-sized dog. With her beautiful fur in various shades of brown, white paw tips, and her endearing gaze, she immediately captivates everyone. Serena shows typical puppy behavior: curious, playful, and open to new adventures, yet still a bit cautious in unfamiliar situations. She explores her surroundings step by step and wins over everyone with her friendly and people-oriented nature. With loving support, she will develop into a wonderful companion. For Serena, we wish for a home where she will be brought closer to the world of dogs with patience, empathy, and lots of love. Especially in the important puppy phase, she needs people who can give her clear orientation while always being gentle and understanding. A visit to a dog training class that works with positive reinforcement would be a great support for her to continue developing at her own pace. Serena travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated and brings her EU pet passport. Starting from the end of April, she is ready to start her new life against an adoption fee of 500 Euro – maybe with you? A foster home would also be very helpful for her. Many thanks to the -community for taking on the naming patronage! As of: 26.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 26.03.2026

About Serena

What life with Serena looks like

Serena is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Serena, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Serena?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Serena on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Serena if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Serena already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Serena isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Serena and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
