Severus

Dwarf Lop · Male · Young · 1 year

Meet Severus! A lonely boy searching for his forever bunny friend and home. This guy maybe a little shy at first but he has a big heart with lots of love to give. He enjoys being out and about exploring but feels safe having lots of hides nearby to retreat too. He likes to have attention from people on his terms, so the best way to interact with him is to sit down quietly and offer his favourite treats. With this, he does build trust with you and enjoys a little head rub too. We are unsure if Severus has lived with children in the past, but given he can be easily startled, he would need to be in a quiet home with older children able to understand him. Severus can be housed either indoor or outdoors and he is yet to show us if he enjoys digging. He does enjoy home made enrichment such as cardboard boxes to sit on top off or sit inside. He waits for his morning pellets to be popped inside his puzzle feeder and he is ready to complete his morning mission! If you are interested in Severus, please do get in touch via the website. As a social species, rabbits need to live with other rabbits to thrive. They feel safe and happy in pairs or groups and find comfort in companionship. Rabbits can be housed in neutered same-sex or mixed sex-pairs, or groups.

About Severus

What life with Severus looks like

Severus is a large young adult dwarf lop rabbit waiting at Wood Green in London.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Severus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Severus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wood Green handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Severus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Severus if I live in another country?
Sometimes. Whether a rabbit can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Wood Green what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Severus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
What a rabbit comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Wood Green directly what is included and what Severus still needs.
What happens if Severus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wood Green early rather than rehoming privately; they know Severus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
