Shadow

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

She has been RESERVED! 🐾 Meet Shadow: a beautiful 12-year-old girl looking for her forever home 🐾 Shadow is a truly gorgeous, gentle soul who is ready to find someone she can love and trust. She may take a little time to get to know you, but once you’ve earned her trust, her sweet and friendly personality shines through. She has no aggression and is such a kind, loving girl. And just wait until you hear her beautiful purr! Shadow would be happiest as an indoor or outdoor cat, in a quiet, peaceful home where she can feel safe and settled. She would prefer to be the only cat, so she can have all the love and attention to herself. What Shadow really wants is a calm environment, a little patience, and a special person who will love her for the wonderful girl she is. In return, she’ll give you her trust, companionship, and that gorgeous purr. If you think you could offer Shadow the quiet, loving home she deserves, please get in touch. About Shadow

What life with Shadow looks like

Shadow is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Compassion for Cats, Oakhill CIO in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Shadow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Shadow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Compassion for Cats, Oakhill CIO handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Shadow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Shadow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Compassion for Cats, Oakhill CIO will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Shadow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Shadow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Compassion for Cats, Oakhill CIO early rather than rehoming privately; they know Shadow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
