Adopt Sheba

Mixed Breed · Female

Sheba lived on a chain for the first year of her life and didn't know what it was like to play, be walked or be free to express herself. Fortunately for her the households Grandson came forwards to me to ask if HHH would take her as she had something “wrong” with her legs. She could hardly walk when Helen took her and had absolutely no muscle tone, so it turned out there was nothing “wrong” with her apart from a lack of meaningful exercise to strengthen her developing legs. Fast forward to today and Sheba is absolutely beautiful, with a wonderful temperament, she's playful, happy and gets very excited about her food and her walks. We call her one of our wonky dogs she is living her best life, she just doesn’t need long walks and she's very happy to potter about. She seems to be disconnected from her tail which is very amusing and when she is eating and wags her tail she thinks it’s another dog trying to steal her food. She gets on really well with other dogs and is incredible with children. If you're interested in giving this beautiful girl her forever home, please send us a message !

About Sheba

What life with Sheba looks like

Sheba is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Helen in Vratsa region.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇬Adopting from Bulgaria

Bulgarian shelters typically include full vet workup, sterilization, and passport. Many coordinate with EU rescue partners for direct transport to adopter cities in Germany, Netherlands, and Austria.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sheba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sheba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sheba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sheba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sheba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sheba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sheba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
