Shinobi

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 3 years

Shinobi arrived with her kittens through a free cat adoption event. Thanks to our neighbors, we learned that her owner had moved away, leaving her behind. Character: Shinobi is a young mother with a strong personality. She is affectionate in her own way, enjoying cuddles... but she always decides when. However, she easily rubs against her humans' legs to ask for some attention or simply share a moment of complicity. Very protective, Shinobi has a strong maternal instinct. She likes to live in a calm environment where she can feel safe. She also has a funny quirk: she seems to have a real dislike for fangs! If you walk with her, it's not impossible that she decides to ambush them... always with her own little personality. Shinobi is not a big player. She prefers to enjoy her comfort and tranquility. Her favorite places? Sofas, where she loves to rest, as well as a cozy hiding place where she can isolate herself when she feels the need. Very greedy and particularly talkative, she knows perfectly well how to make it clear when it's time for food! She eats dry food daily and enjoys a small portion of wet food morning and evening... which she never fails to ask for if her humans forget. Shinobi is a very clean lady. However, she is also very demanding: if her litter doesn't seem clean enough to her, she will prefer to do her business right next to it. A regularly cleaned litter will therefore be essential for her well-being. Out of the question to go and get dirty paws. I like / I don't like: • OK cats • Not OK children Shinobi needs access to the outdoors. She regularly tries to go out and will thrive more in a family that can offer her a garden or a secure environment allowing her to enjoy the outdoors.

About Shinobi

What life with Shinobi looks like

Shinobi is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at APAA Trégrom in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Shinobi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Shinobi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APAA Trégrom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Shinobi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Shinobi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — APAA Trégrom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Shinobi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Shinobi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APAA Trégrom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Shinobi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
