SIERRA

Male · Adult · 4 years

Sierra, a 3-year-old Bulldog, is available for adoption in the 31st or neighboring departments. She has been returned to the shelter three times and needs a loving home to avoid heartbreak again. Sierra was removed by the Castelginest gendarmerie, which does excellent work on animal abuse cases, and was entrusted to us. She lived 24/7 in a cage with her mother (both in the same one). The poor dog has been living in her own feces for so long that her white fur remained yellow for several days. Sierra is a sweet girl who deserves a real family life. She is a bit "feisty," which is normal, as she needs to live and is only 3 years old. ℹ️ She will need to learn not to pull on the leash. ✔️ Sierra has grown up with children and loves them. ❌ She does not accept cats 😬 ❌ She can coexist with a male dog of the same size, but she is reactive, especially on a leash and especially towards females!!! This can be worked on. ➡️ We are looking for adopters who will put in the effort to work with Sierra, accompanied by a professional. She does not deserve another failure or disappointment. She is a perfect dog otherwise: wise, clean, affectionate. She is looking for the presence she has been missing so much. ✔️ Sierra can live in a house with a well-fenced garden or an apartment; she knows how to be alone. ⚠️ Are you ready to give this golden girl a real chance and keep your commitments necessary for her adoption's success? Come meet her soon... 👉 Watch Sierra on video ➡️ ADOPTION DEPARTEMENT 31 OR LIMITROPHES (but we will consider serious proposals outside the department)Sierra ♀️ Bulldog born October 4, 2021 microchip # 250 26 87 80 05 60 42 ℹ️ Adoption fee €300 + a free donation that is tax-deductible and includes identification, initial vaccination, sterilization, as well as diagnosis: Sierra will not be categorized. About SIERRA

What life with SIERRA looks like

SIERRA is a adult dog waiting at Association Agir pour les Animaux in Rennes.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting SIERRA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about SIERRA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Agir pour les Animaux handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SIERRA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt SIERRA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Agir pour les Animaux will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is SIERRA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if SIERRA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Agir pour les Animaux early rather than rehoming privately; they know SIERRA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
