Sif

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Description Our animal welfare workers report: The little Sif was found on a landfill. Starved and in poor condition (especially the fur), the little black mouse was taken to a veterinarian where she was initially cared for. After that, she went to a foster home – and behold: From the little, emaciated Sif, a real beauty has become. She gets along super with people, and Feltail also has no problems with other cats. Black cats bring no bad luck – they just sometimes have a bit of good fortune. Who can offer the cuddly miew a warm bed and a forever home? The cat featured here comes from an animal shelter/foster home that still houses many other animals. We are searching for homes and a loving, safe life for these animals. The descriptions are brief because there simply isn't time during our daily work to care for all the animals. If you are interested, we can provide a more detailed description. Please send your questions directly via email to the given address. We will try to answer them as soon as possible. Home sought For Sif, we are searching for a loving, understanding home. Our cats come – as far as their health and age allow – neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and with an EU Pass. Additionally, they are tested for FELV/FIV. We look forward to your contact.

About Sif

What life with Sif looks like

Sif is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sif, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sif?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sif on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sif if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sif already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sif isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sif and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
