Adopt Simba

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Name: Simba Breed: mixed breed Gender: male neutered Size: 52 cm Weight: 24 kg Age: 20.09.2021 Im animal shelter since: 05.03.2022 If you are interested in Simba, please answer the following six questions in your inquiry first: 1. How many people live in your household? 2. Are there children in the house? If yes, how many and how old? 3. Are there other pets in the house? If yes, which ones? 4. What is the living situation (house/apartment? floor? garden?) 5. How many hours would the dog be alone each day? (Please note: supervision must be provided by adults. Children do not count for supervision!) 6. Have you had dog experience before? 7. Your birth year? Simba was initially unsure around people, but he has since built trust with us and shows little to no fear of touch – as long as his canine companions are around. In his group, he is now quite high in the hierarchy and he’s not afraid to be the “big shot” sometimes. If there is already a dog in the new home, he should either be very confident or not dominant. We can place him as a second dog because he easily adapts to dog society. His future people should be dog-experienced and give him the time to adjust to the new routine. Since he grew up in the animal shelter and has not yet been exposed to the wider world, it will take a lot of time to catch up in the new home – and a lot of patience. Some dogs adjust to the new routine more easily than others, so it’s very important that as a human, you don’t have any expectations of the dog. Do you have a question about this animal? Please call us: Tues, Thurs 3-5 pm and Sat 2-5 pm Or write us: Some shelter animals may need to be more patient in their search for an appropriate home. This can be due to illness, age, or special character traits. To make the time for these residents as pleasant as possible, we rely on the financial support of animal friends. By adopting a sponsorship, you help us with daily and medical care and accommodation of our animals. Sponsorships are possible from a monthly contribution of 10 euros. You can also set the amount of your contribution as you see fit. As a thank you, you will receive an individually designed sponsorship certificate and be mentioned as a sponsor on our homepage and our Facebook page.

Name: Simba Rasse: Mischling Geschlecht: männlich kastriert Größe: 52 cm Gewicht: 24 kg Alter: 20.09.2021 Im Tierheim seit: 05.03.2022 Wenn Sie Interesse an Simba haben, beantworten Sie uns in Ihrer Anfrage bitte zuerst die folgenden sechs Fragen:1. Wie viele Personen leben im Haushalt?2. Leben Kinder im Haus? Wenn ja, wie viele und wie alt?3. Leben andere Tiere im Haus? Wenn ja, welche?4. Wie ist die Wohnsituation (Haus/Wohnung? Stockwerk? Garten?)5.

About Simba

What life with Simba looks like

Simba is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at BMT Tierheim Pfullingen in Pfullingen.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Simba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Simba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. BMT Tierheim Pfullingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Simba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Simba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — BMT Tierheim Pfullingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Simba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Simba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with BMT Tierheim Pfullingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Simba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
