Dog Shelter Simba Born 15.01.2023. Gender male. Breed Border Collie mixFur color black-whiteShoulder height Weight 13 kgDogs safe YesCats safe UnknownChildren safe YesBeginner dog Second dog Can stay aloneHello you two-leggeds, I am Simba, a young Border-Collie-mix breed with plenty of bees in my rear and a built-in turbo. I was born on 15.01.2023 and since then I have been spreading joy, movement, and the occasional laugh everywhere. Ball? Here it is! Cycling? I'm in! With other dogs playing and roughhousing? Right away! I am, after all, a true action hero on four legs. Typical Collie: smart, athletic, sassy, and always ready for the next adventure. But don't worry, I'm not just a little fluff ball. I'm also totally people-oriented and learn really fast. I can sit, stay, and heel, and if you explain something to me, I understand what you want quite well. Clever little head included. I get along super well with other dogs and would definitely not mind a playmate of my size for some roughhousing and testing out running tracks. Kids also find me great and I could imagine becoming part of an active family. What I'm looking for? People with a sense of humor, love for movement, and preferably a garden where I can perfect my zoomies. A couch for snuggling, of course, I'll take. So if you're not looking for a boring armchair, but a funny, sassy, and agile companion for life, then get in touch. Your Simba back 11. Geboren wurde ich am 15.01.2023 und seitdem sorge ich überall für gute Laune, Bewegung und den einen oder anderen Lachflash. Ball? Her damit! Fahrradfahren? Bin ich dabei! Mit anderen Hunden toben und kabbeln? Sofort! Was ich suche? About Simba

What life with Simba looks like

Simba is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Peine in Peine.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Simba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Simba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Peine handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Simba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Simba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Peine will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Simba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Simba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Peine early rather than rehoming privately; they know Simba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
