2022, Simeon, also known as Siimu, left our group. He was a cat whose rescue story is still remembered by the volunteers from that time. In 2012, Kassikaitse was informed that a red cat had been staying in the basement of an apartment building on Turu tn for a long time. A volunteer went to catch the cat with a transport trap. After a lot of sweating, the cat was caught, the trap's doors were securely checked, everything was fine, and the cat was quickly taken to the car. Before reaching the car, it seemed like the trap had become significantly lighter. Continuing towards the car, suddenly there was a red cat on the road. At first, they couldn't understand that the cat had escaped from the transport trap, because the door was closed. Then it turned out that one of the back locks had come loose and the cat had slipped out. This happened when the cat was heavy and the locks weren't properly secured; the base would then stretch the lock open. It was a big disappointment. Anyway, a few days later the cat was finally caught again and after the veterinary visits, he was returned to the young people who had told about him. And in this good home, he lived until this summer. The home wrote: Simmu always had something like street cats' feline immunodeficiency or whatever it's called, an immune deficiency. Amazing that he lived so long without problems. But gradually, tumors began to appear, which did not heal, and eventually the claws started to rot, we tried, but there was no healing, and in the end, he went crazy and we put him to sleep. He was with us for 10 years. Anyway, it's always good to hear about the fate of the cats we rescued in the early days of Kassikaitse.

2022.a. lahkus meie hulgast Simeon ehk Siimu. Tema on kass, kelle päästmise lugu on tolle aja vabatahtlikul siiani meeles. 2012.a. anti Kassikaitsele teada, et ühes Turu tn kortermaja keldris redutab hulga aega juba üks punane kass. Vabatahtlik läks transpordipuuriga kassi püüdma. Suure higistamise järel sai kass puuri, puuriuksed kindlalt üle kontrollitud, kõik oli korras ja ruttu kassi autosse viima. Enne autosse jõudmist tundus, et puur nagu oleks oluliselt kergemaks läinud. Ikka edasi auto suunas ja siis järsku oli tee peal punane kass. Algul ei saanud arugi, et kass on transpordipuurist väljas, sest uks oli ju kinni. Ja siis selgus, et üks tagumistest klambritest oli lahti tulnud ja kass välja imbunud. See toimub siis, kui kass on raske ja klambrid pole väga korralikult kinnitatud, põhi venitab siis klambri lahti. No oli suur pettumus. No igatahes järgmistel päevadel saadi kiisu ikka kätte ja peale kliinikuvisiite jäigi ta noorte juurde, kes temast teada andsid.Ja selles heas kodus elas ta kuni selle suveni.
