Sira

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Sira and Kimba came to our shelter together. Now they have the chance to find a new home with people who can provide them with exactly what they need. (Individual placement would be possible) They are not properly exercised at our shelter. Both have a lot of energy and are simply powerhouses, especially when meeting other dogs. They are by no means aggressive, but just want to make contact with other dogs. Sira can walk well on a leash. In some situations, she seems a bit uncertain. Probably because she wasn't allowed to learn much. Sometimes she also seems a bit anxious and startles easily. But otherwise, relatively relaxed walks with both. Sira is a sweet Dalmatian mix. She is affectionate and playful. She is ready for a new home with people who have time for her and can give her the exercise she needs. A garden would be ideal for her. Who would like to get to know her better? Then just come to our shelter. Dalmatian mix born 1.9.2024, neutered, size approx. 60cm

About Sira

What life with Sira looks like

Sira is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein SOM e.V. (Tierheim Pfaffengrün) in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein SOM e.V. (Tierheim Pfaffengrün) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein SOM e.V. (Tierheim Pfaffengrün) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Sira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein SOM e.V. (Tierheim Pfaffengrün) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
