adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! As Sira and her siblings Pudding and Maxime were found, they were nothing but a small heap of misery: completely exhausted puppies, alone by the roadside – probably simply abandoned and not wanted. Their fur was dull and dirty from the street dust, their small bodies completely emaciated. No one seemed to care for them – and yet they still held onto that one spark of hope. Tina discovered the three siblings and took them home. Now Sira, Pudding, and Maxime are searching for a loving home. Sira is a cheerful, lively puppy girl who loves to discover new things and play with her siblings in the yard. She is currently about 4.5 months old and will likely reach a shoulder height of around 15 inches when fully grown. We cannot say for sure what breeds are in Sira, but setter genes cannot be ruled out. She has a very slender build and long legs. Sira is energetic and loves to play. Therefore, we would like to find her active people who enjoy being outdoors and sharing the world with her. In her Romanian foster home, she lives problem-free with other dogs – whether big or small. She also knows cats. Sira is a very friendly and clever puppy that wants to please people. With lots of love, patience, and positive reinforcement, she will surely learn the dog 1×1 course quickly. In a few months, Sira will also enter puberty. During this time, rules will be questioned and boundaries tested – some things that were learned seem to be forgotten. With a loving and consistent upbringing style, Sira will develop into a great, self-assured companion. For Sira, we would like to find loving people who want to give her a family connection, a warm dog bed, beautiful walks, and enough contact with fellow animals. Sira is ready to travel and can now travel to her new home. She is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport. Many thanks, Jenny! You gave Sira her pretty name! As of: 24.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Jenny! Du hast Sira ihren hübschen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 24.05.2026 Weitere Informationen zum Thema Vorkontrolle und Schutzgebühr

About Sira

What life with Sira looks like

Sira is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
