SISKA (F) - 14 months - DEAF - to adopt BLC Characteristics Date of birth: 27/12/2021 Sex: Female Registered with LOF/LOSH/ISDS: No Disabilities: Yes: DEAF Getting along with children: ok Getting along with dogs: ok Getting along with cats: no Getting along with others: not known Character. Background and History About her past and origins, nothing is known. For the association, her life began with her FA where she was received after being found wandering by a family that could not keep her and handed her over to us. From this past, she has some bad habits, such as rushing to get outside, taking advantage of an open window to jump out into the garden where she runs around wildly, on walks she sniffs around at the end of the lead always curious to discover everything. Her cleanliness is also imperfect: at night in the cage, without any problem, but during the day she must be taken out regularly. Since her arrival, SISKA has made great progress: she has learned some signs. She learns well when she is focused without distractions, otherwise, she is a bit like a free electron, following the fly that flies! She travels easily in the car, on a leash, SISKA walks without pulling too much and follows the human well. SISKA is a very lively young dog: very playful with other animals of the same species but she also knows how to sit at her master's feet, but is always ready for new adventures. We are therefore looking for an active family (canicross? agility ???) who can be present because she does not like to be alone and will be involved in her education but also offer her the activities she needs. Another well-trained dog would be welcome to play and guide her. Histoire Foyer searched Adoption Neutered/spayed: No but will have to be Vaccinated: Yes Identifier: 981100004980233 Address: Anhée, Belgium Contribution to costs: 95€ Contact person: Nanou Guanje via messenger Email: Share on PinterestShare with your friendsYour NameYour EmailRecipient EmailEnter a MessageI read this article and I found it very interesting, I think you might like it. About SISKA

What life with SISKA looks like

SISKA is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Border Line Collie in borderlinecollie.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting SISKA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about SISKA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Border Line Collie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SISKA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt SISKA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Border Line Collie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is SISKA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if SISKA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Border Line Collie early rather than rehoming privately; they know SISKA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
