How do I contact the shelter about Sissi?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sissi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Sissi if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Sissi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Sissi isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sissi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Sissi

Female

Sissi is waiting for a virtual caregiver. Name: Sissi Breed: Mix Born: 2025 Sex: Female Size: small Weight: 7.5 kg SISSI - a small, delicate female dog who most needs a sense of security right now... Sissi came to our shelter from the Gmina Sochocin area. She is still very young, delicate, and lost. The new place frightens her - instead of curiosity and joy, fear is the main emotion. Sissi needs a person who is not in a hurry. Someone calm, warm, and patient who will allow her to understand step by step that a person can mean safety, care, and love. At first, she may need time to trust, approach closer, and show what she really is. But it is precisely such stories that are the most beautiful - when frightened eyes begin to look with hope, not fear, over time. Sissi is not looking for an ideal home. We are looking for a person who will give her time, peace, and a heart. Maybe it will be you who will make her feel for the first time that she doesn't have to be afraid... DON'T BUY - ADOPT! A DOG THAT ENTERS OUR SHELTER IS COVERED BY A 14-DAY QUARANTINE. If the owner does not pick him up during this time, the dog will be: vaccinated, chipped, neutered, and we will look for a new caregiver. The condition for adoption is to fill out a questionnaire available on our website, agree to a pre/post-adoption visit, and sign an adoption agreement. About Sissi

What life with Sissi looks like

Sissi is a small adult dog waiting at Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.
