adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Sitara has found her people! Her story: Gentle Soul searches her Forever Home! The approximately 1.5-year-old Sitara originally lived on the streets, where she was lovingly cared for by one of our dedicated volunteers. This volunteer cared for several stray cats, had them neutered, and built them small shelters. Now, Sitara patiently waits for the journey to her new home! The pretty Sitara is a very special cat: reserved, sensitive, and with a big heart that craves security. At first, she meets new people cautiously and observantly. But who gives her a little time and space will be rewarded with a small treasure! Once Sitara has built trust, she transforms into a purring snuggle cat that adores cuddles. In everyday life, Sitara is a pleasant roommate. She shows herself to be calm and balanced indoors, with small playful moments where her youthful essence shines through. She fits perfectly into any family that understands she needs a little time to thaw. Sitara gets along well with other cats and we hope for her at least one more social feline companion. She also seems to have no problems with dogs. In the familiar four walls, Sitara feels most comfortable, but we do not wish a home with a roam-free area for her. A connected balcony, however, would certainly be a treat for her. Sitara is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. She also has an EU pet passport and is now ready to travel to her new home. Many thanks to Francesca T. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Sitara

What life with Sitara looks like

Sitara is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sitara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sitara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sitara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sitara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sitara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sitara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sitara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
