Skat is an unneutered stray dog, so we can't say anything about his past. His age is also unclear, but we estimate he's around 7/8 years old. We've neutered Skat, but he won't be able to live with an unneutered female until September 17, 2026. Since he's currently alone, we can't say how he'll get along with other dogs. He's very shy and reserved around people. He only ventures out of his den when no one is around. If someone enters the room, he quickly hides again. With a lot of patience and calmness, he occasionally comes out for a treat. Petting him is not an option right now, but we can't say how he'll behave with at least one other animal in a home. Skat is looking for a home with plenty of space to hop around, many hiding spots, and people who are patient and calm, without caring if he'll eventually let them touch him. He also needs at least one other suitable companion to live with.

Skat ist unkastriert als Fundtier zu uns gekommen, weshalb wir nichts zu seiner Vergangenheit sagen können. Wie alt er ist, ist dementsprechend ebenfalls unklar, geschätzt wird er allerdings auf ca ein ¾ Jahr. Mittlerweile ist Skat kastriert und darf auch zu weiblichen Artgenossen ziehen. Da er bei uns zurzeit noch allein sitzt, können wir nicht sagen, wie er sich mit anderen Artgenossen verhalten wird. Dem Menschen gegenüber ist der süße Kerl sehr ängstlich und zurückhaltend. Aus seiner Höhle traut er sich fast nur raus, wenn kein Mensch mehr in der Nähe ist. Betritt man den Raum, huscht er schnell wieder zurück. Mit sehr viel Geduld und Ruhe kommt er für ein Salatblatt ab und zu doch mal raus. Anfassen ist für ihn zurzeit keine Option, wie er sich zusammen mit mindestens einem weiteren Tier in einem Zuhause verhält, können wir aber natürlich nicht sagen. Skat sucht ein Zuhause, in dem er viel Platz zum Hoppeln, viele Versteckmöglichkeiten und Menschen hat, denen es nicht wichtig ist, ob er sich irgendwann anfassen lässt oder nicht, sondern ihm mit viel Geduld und Ruh begegnen. Zudem braucht er natürlich noch mindestens einen weiteren passenden Artgenossen, mit dem er zusammenleben kann. Skat sitzt nun bei uns seit wenigen Tagen mit den beiden Kaninchendamen Rubi und Tarja zusammen. Die drei haben sich sich sehr schnell zusammengerauft und sind schon jetzt gute Freunde geworden, die fast immer zu dritt anzutreffen sind. Auch wenn Skat deutlich kleiner ist als die anderen beiden, harmonisiert die 3er-Gruppe sehr gut. Der sonst so scheue Skat ist direkt deutlich aufgetaut und nun fast immer zu sehen. Die beiden zutraulichen Damen geben ihm sehr viel Sicherheit. Am liebsten würde er mit seinen zwei neuen Freundinnen zusammenbleiben und gemeinsam in ein neues Zuhause ziehen.
