Adopt Skoda

Female · Kitten · 2 months

Anna & Skoda – unusual mother-daughter duo seeking a shared home 🐾 Name: Anna & Skoda Breed: EKH Born: Skoda ca. 26.03.2026, Anna unknown Gender: Female neutered: Yes Anna and Skoda only met each other here at the animal shelter after Skoda arrived as a found kitten. Quickly, Anna took the little Skoda under her wing and became her loving adoptive mother. That’s why the two would like to move into a new home together. Anna is more of a quiet cat who enjoys cuddles and is always enthusiastic about treats, but she doesn’t particularly like being picked up. Not long ago, Anna had to be neutered due to a uterine infection, but everything is now back to normal. Skoda still shows some fear and may hiss out of insecurity at first. However, she can be touched and stroked – and with a little patience, one quickly notices that she actually enjoys the attention. She can be particularly enticed with toys. For Anna and Skoda, we wish for a quiet and loving home with understanding people who give them time to settle in. For Anna, it would also be very nice if, after proper acclimation, she once again had the opportunity to have a garden or go outside. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Skoda

What life with Skoda looks like

Skoda is a puppy/kitten cat waiting at Tierheim Ahlen in Ahlen.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Skoda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Skoda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Ahlen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Skoda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Skoda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Ahlen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Skoda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Skoda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Ahlen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Skoda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
