Skye

English Bulldog · Female · Young · 2 years

Skye is a sweet girl who likes the company of people. She is quite an independant girl and is content to be in your company rather than having lots of fuss so is looking for a home where she can be a companion rather than a lap dog. Skye can be worried by visitors so will need a safe space within the home she can retreat to if she feels overwhelmed. She has been doing well with her training at the centre and would benefit from continuing this in her new home, our Behaviour Team can provide advice to help set you up for success. Skye is a 2 year old Old English Bulldog. She is looking for a home where she can be the only pet but she could have some doggy friends on walks. She would like a home in a quieter location without too much traffic. Skye has on occasion shown aggression and snapped when she has been uncomfortable, there has been no contact but she will need everyone in the home to be able to read her body language and give her space when she needs it so she is looking for an adult only home. Once settled, she can be left for short periods of time. Skye will need her own secure garden to help her settle into her new home.

About Skye

What life with Skye looks like

Skye is a young adult english bulldog dog waiting at Dogs Trust Snetterton in Snetterton.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Skye, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Skye?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Snetterton handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Skye on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Skye if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Snetterton will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Skye already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Skye isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Snetterton early rather than rehoming privately; they know Skye and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
