adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Skye was found motherless and abandoned with her sister Shelby. The two puppies were completely on their own, but they had great fortune and were promptly taken in by a loving foster family in Romania. There, they can now grow up protected, but the accommodation is only temporary, so Skye is now searching for her own loving home. The little Skye is currently about 2–3 months old and measures approximately 31 cm. As befits a puppy of her age, her everyday life at the moment consists of playing, eating, sleeping, and curiously exploring the world. Sometimes she moves a bit unsteadily and she also loses her balance during the wild play – that's just what a normal puppy is like. In play, she can also be a bit wild and unrestrained for her age. In her foster family, Skye lives together with children and other dogs and is already gathering many important impressions for her future life. She also encounters stray cats from time to time. She shows herself to be a friendly, open, and social young female dog who curiously explores her surroundings and likes to have contact with people and fellow animals. For Skye, we wish for people who bring enough time, patience, and understanding for a young dog. Although she is already allowed to gather some first experiences in family life, she of course still has much to learn. House training, leash manners, being alone, and the many new impressions of her future life will have to be built up step by step with her. With loving consistency, clear structures, and positive reinforcement, she will surely develop into a great companion. Attending a positively working dog training class can be a beautiful support and additionally strengthen the bond. Skye wishes for people who meet her with love and security and show her how wonderful a protected dog life can be. A safe foster home would also be a valuable opportunity for the little one! Many thanks Alexandra D.! You gave Skye her name! Date: 30.05. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Alexandra D.! Du hast Skye ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 30.05.2026

About Skye

What life with Skye looks like

Skye is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Skye, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Skye?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Skye on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Skye if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Skye already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Skye isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Skye and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
