Smore

Female Β· Young Β· 3 years

Just like her namesake, Smore is a sweetie! She has lived a sheltered life so far and so is still learning about the wider world but has been doing well with exploring and learning new things. She enjoys a fuss and a cuddle and has shown herself to be a bright girl who does well with training. Smore is looking for a patient and understanding family that can continue her training in the home and help her build confidence with the wider world. Smore is a 3 year old Boxer x Shih Tzu. She is a friendly girl and could join a home with children of Secondary School age and older that can appreciate she may want her own space at times. Smore is underconfident around other dogs and can be vocal towards them. She has been doing well with her training and has been able to walk with other dogs but will need to be the only pet in her new home and will need to continue her training to help her build confidence. Smore would like her own secure garden to provide a safe space for play and toilet training while she continues to build confidence with the wider world. She is not used to being left so any leaving hours would need to be built up gradually once she is settled in her new home.

About Smore

What life with Smore looks like

Smore is a young adult dog waiting at Dogs Trust Snetterton in Snetterton.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Smore, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Smore?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Snetterton handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Smore on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Smore if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Snetterton will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Smore already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Smore isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Snetterton early rather than rehoming privately; they know Smore and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
