I came to the shelter in very poor mental condition - I was afraid of human presence, avoided contact. I'm afraid of sudden movements and loud noises. The shelter probably saved me from an even worse fate - I arrived here with my tail cut off. My past must have been very painful and a lot of time will pass before I trust humans at all. I calm down in the presence of calm people who give me time to trust. I allow myself to be touched, stroked, brushed; I let myself put on harnesses and collars, take for walks. I react with great submissiveness to everything, but no contact with a human does not please me yet. I am still alert and distrustful. Away from the shelter, I slowly open up, start sniffing and walking. On a walk, I look suspiciously at my caregiver, still uncertain about what to expect. I ignore other dogs. I recommend myself to the best home that will give me a sense of security, give me time to forget (as much as possible) about the painful past. Do schroniska trafiłam w bardzo złym stanie psychicznym – bałam się obecności człowieka, unikałam kontaktu. Boję się gwałtownych ruchów, hałasów. Schronisko wybawiło mnie pewnie od jeszcze gorszego losu – trafiłam tutaj z odciętym ogonem. Moja przeszłość musiała być bardzo bolesna i dużo czasu będzie musiało upłynąć, nim w ogóle zaufam człowiekowi. Wyciszam się w obecności osób spokojnych, które dają mi czas zaufać. Pozwalam się dotykać, głaskać, szczotkować; pozwalam sobie zapiąć szelki i obrożę, wyprowadzić na spacer. Na wszystko reaguję z ogromną uległością, ale żaden kontakt z człowiekiem mnie na razie nie cieszy. Wciąż jestem czujna i nieufna.
