Snorre

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Snorre was found together with his five siblings, Pippin, Spoon, Spock, and Monique under very sad circumstances. Three of the puppies were literally found in the trash, and the other three siblings were found completely soaked and freezing the next day. After their difficult start in life, they were taken in by the shelter in Bistrița and fattened up. In March, Snorre was then allowed to travel to his foster home in Germany. The approximately 5-month-old Snorre bears the name of a brave Viking. However, he is not quite as fearless at the moment, instead, he is a sensitive little explorer who wants to learn about the world step by step. His cute ringed tail reveals his good mood. Once Snorre has trust, he becomes incredibly cuddly and clingy. In his familiar environment, he is very puppy-like, lively, but never overexcited, and enjoys the closeness of his primary caregiver very much. Snorre gets along excellently with other dogs and shows himself to be social and playful. However, he is very skeptical and reserved towards strangers. If something upsets him, he may also growl or bark, and one quickly notices that his insecurity lies behind it. If given time and met calmly, he gradually opens up. Even environmental stimuli are still new to Snorre, but in his foster home, he has already made great progress. He masters car rides very relaxed. He has also already learned to greet horses, he sniffs them curiously and walks obediently beside them on a walk. His indoor potty training also works well, he reliably does his business outside and barks when he needs to. If responded to promptly, his little business also works reliably. Snorre is likely to be of medium size and is currently about 40 cm tall. We wish him a quiet home with patient people. Small children should not live in the household, as sudden and unpredictable movements may unsettle him. Older or young children would be possible. Snorre has already learned some things in his foster home, but in his new home, he will have to settle in again because everything is new to him and he may initially react insecurely or reservedly. His new family should be aware that they need to build on what he has learned and continue to work patiently with him. The Hunde-ABC is still unfamiliar to Snorre, and he stands at the very beginning of it, from leash training to indoor potty training and being left alone. Puberty is still ahead of him, in which he will test boundaries and perhaps relearn what he has already learned. Snorre needs people with patience, love, and consistency who give him security and accompany him step by step. With clear structures, enough time, and trust, the sensitive little Viking will certainly develop into a loyal, cuddly companion. Snorre is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings an EU pet passport with him and can travel after a positive assessment. Are you ready to set sail with Snorre and start a new life together? Many thanks Dana! You have named Snorre! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Dana! Du hast Snorre seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 19.04.2026

About Snorre

What life with Snorre looks like

Snorre is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snorre, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snorre?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snorre on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snorre if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Snorre already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snorre isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snorre and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
