Snow

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Snow is ready to fill a forever home with life and joy. The handsome male dog with the cuddly fur is approximately 6 years old and has a medium size. He weighs around 20 kg. Like many others, he came to us without a history, but he is ready for a new chapter in his life. Snow is very friendly and playful and he is always in a good mood. It almost seems as if he goes through life with a big grin. He looks forward to every bit of attention and wishes nothing more than to finally start a life with his people. A compatibility with others with other dogs and cats has not yet been tested. With his approximately 6 years, he is in the prime of his life and wants to enjoy it fully. We assume that he has not yet experienced life in a home and therefore still has to learn how a harmonious coexistence works. Therefore, we wish for Snow people who will accept him and accompany him on this journey with the necessary patience and empathy. Many adult dogs often surprise with the fact that, although they have never learned it, they are house-trained from the start. However, an occasional mishap should be taken with a wink. Snow was operated on in January due to several tumors. A biopsy and the removal of further tumors are still pending. Snow is far from old iron and a visit to a positively working dog training class could bring him great joy and help you grow as a team. If Snow has already snuck into your heart and you wish for a cheerful companion, then contact us directly. We would also be very happy to see him as a foster home to help the charming fellow grow. Snow travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, together with his EU pet passport, to his new life. Stand: 25.04. Many thanks to Selina for this wonderful name. Thanks to you, Snow now has the chance to have his own dog bed.

About Snow

What life with Snow looks like

Snow is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Snow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
