Adopt Snuffe

Female · Young · 1 year

A playful and affectionate boy with a lot of energy and closeness, Snuffe is a happy and lively dog with lots of speed under his paws. He is a mischievous and active guy who loves to run, move around and be where things are happening. At the same time, there is a soft and gentle side to him; he really likes closeness and wants to be as close to his human as possible. Snuffe enjoys getting attention and thrives when he can be part of daily life. At Hundstallet, he has also appreciated activities such as water trampoline, balance exercises and quieter moments with massage, which shows a nice balance between activity and recovery. The dog has undergone a BPH test (Behavior and Personality Description) to give a clearer picture of its personality and characteristics. Snuffe is currently overweight and needs to lose weight in order to feel good and reduce the strain on his joints, which means that he needs a home that can provide the right conditions in terms of adapted diet and appropriate exercise. When meeting other dogs, he can lunge and become very intense. In such moments, it is difficult to get in touch with him, and here it is necessary to continue working with calm, distance and secure guidance. Snuffe is not used to being alone and is not completely housebroken yet, which means that one needs to be prepared to train this from scratch in a calm and patient manner. He also has a certain need for continued training and does best when taken at his pace and a safe relationship is built over time. Snuffe is looking for an engaged and present home that wants to continue working on his training and at the same time give him the closeness he clearly appreciates. He is best suited for someone who understands dogs that can become intense in dog meetings and who is ready to work calmly and consistently with this. A home where he gets the opportunity to move around, build up his body at an appropriate pace and at the same time be a close part of his human's daily life would suit him very well. With the right person, there is a happy, affectionate and energetic dog who has a lot to give.

About Snuffe

What life with Snuffe looks like

Snuffe is a young adult dog waiting at Hundstallet in Stockholm.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snuffe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snuffe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundstallet handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snuffe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snuffe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundstallet will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Snuffe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snuffe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundstallet early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snuffe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
