Snug

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

Snug is now quite relaxed and sometimes a curious listener. March 2021 November 2018 After struggling with her fear for a long time, she is now ready to take a closer look at people. Touch is only possible for a very short time and with her arm stretched out. Only when she thinks you can't see her, she will come closer from behind. She is on a good path, and we hope she will continue it. Beautiful Snug, you can do it. She gets along very well with her fellow dogs, often seen with twin sister Sheena, so that you often can't tell who is who at first glance? July 2018 February 2018 July 2017 Snug and her siblings have grown into beautiful, strong dogs, but they are suspicious of humans. We hope they can soon trust us after their first traumatic experience. They play a lot with each other and also with the other dogs in the run. February 2017 4 small, about 5-6 weeks old puppies were about to be drowned in a stream. A kind animal lover rescued them from the icy water. Since she already has 6 dogs, she can't raise the little ones herself. Now they are with us: Samu, Sheena, Snug & Swenny. More information to follow... Only for experienced people.

DE·Show original

About Snug

What life with Snug looks like

Snug is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Initiative Karpatenstreuner e.V. in Romania.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snug, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snug?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Initiative Karpatenstreuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snug on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snug if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Initiative Karpatenstreuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Snug already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snug isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Initiative Karpatenstreuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snug and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
