Snuggie (w)

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Snuggie was born in May 2026 and is currently living at a private foster home of our animal welfare partner Diana in Botoșani, Romania. Snuggie and her siblings were discovered at one of our street dog feeding stations. It's highly likely that the puppies were simply abandoned there - they certainly didn't fall from the sky. Fortunately, Diana found the little ones in time and took them into her care. Since then, they have grown up under protection. Although not indoors, but on Diana's property, where they are daily cared for, engaged, and lovingly looked after. They are already learning to interact with other dogs and cats, giving them a good start in life. Snuggie is a cheerful, curious little girl with plenty of mischief in her head - just as a puppy should be. She loves playing, discovering her world, and brings a smile to everyone's face with her open nature. Unfortunately, we do not know the parents. It is possible that somewhere in their lineage there may be a livestock guardian dog mix. However, we do not expect it to be a pure livestock guardian dog. Their two black siblings also suggest a mixed origin. We estimate Snuggie will reach about 50-55 cm shoulder height when fully grown. For Snuggie, we are looking for a loving home with people who ideally already have experience with dogs. Not because Snuggie is difficult, but because due to her unknown ancestry, we are looking for people who can assess dog behavior well and show her the way into her new life with patience, understanding, and loving consistency. Of course, we will also be available to support their future family after

About Snuggie (w)

What life with Snuggie (w) looks like

Snuggie (w) is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snuggie (w), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snuggie (w)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snuggie (w) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snuggie (w) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Snuggie (w) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snuggie (w) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snuggie (w) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
