Sol

Mixed Breed Β· Male Β· Puppy Β· 4 months

Sol is a handsome four-month-old rescue puppy with a sunny yellow coat and the looks of a little Labrador. He was found abandoned and is now looking for the safe, loving home every puppy deserves. At this age, Sol is still growing and learning about the world. He’ll need a family ready to guide him with patience and kindness, help him build confidence, and enjoy all the fun β€” and busy moments β€” of raising a puppy. His adult size and personality will become clearer as he grows. Sol will need plenty of company, gentle training, age-appropriate exercise and continued socialisation. In return, you’ll have the chance to help him grow into a much-loved member of the family. Sol will arrive fully vaccinated and with comprehensive health checks, including a Uranotest Quattro for Leishmania infantum, Ehrlichia canis, Anaplasma and Dirofilaria immitis antigen; a Canine Brucellosis test; and his own Portuguese passport. Most of our dogs have been found abandoned as young pups, discarded as unwanted litters, as is often the case in Portugal where neutering is not as common as in the UK. After rescue, all of our pups spend time in private shelters and foster homes, meaning they arrive happy, healthy and well socialised. UK Registered Charity Number 1183775

About Sol

What life with Sol looks like

Sol is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs N Homes Rescue in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sol, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sol?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs N Homes Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sol on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sol if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs N Homes Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Sol already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sol isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs N Homes Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sol and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
