Sorpre

Male · Young · 1 year

Sorpre - a cheerful little accomplice is looking for his people Sorpre is almost always cheerful and motivated, quickly getting excited about new things. He loves to experience, learn and be active with his people. Anyone looking for a four-legged accomplice who will go through thick and thin with them could find the right partner in Sorpre. Sorpre is not a dog who would be satisfied with leisurely walks alone. He wants to be busy and would certainly have great fun with suitable activities such as agility, search dog work or other dog sports. He especially likes to master tasks together with his people and learn new things. However, Sorpre also brings a task with him: he tends to control many things and needs people who can show him friendly, clear and confident boundaries. It is equally important to help him come to rest and not be "on the air" all the time. He therefore needs people who give him security, offer him orientation and work with him consistently, but fairly. Since Sorpre probably does not know much of what is important for a family dog's life, he has to learn a lot from scratch. His new people should therefore bring dog experience, patience and empathy. Sorpre needs a lot of praise and positive reinforcement - at the same time, but also clear rules and people who can set loving boundaries for him. We can imagine Sorpre well with children from about 10 years old. He is very well tolerated with his fellow dogs. He is extremely popular with his dog buddies and could therefore certainly move into a home as a second or third dog. Another dog is not a prerequisite for his happiness, however. With cats and small animals, we see Sorpre probably not. Sorpre originally came from Spain and probably also had his own home once. What exactly he experienced in his past, we unfortunately do not know. It is all the more important to give him people now who are willing to start a new life with him step by step. Sorpre is looking for experienced, active and confident people who enjoy working with their dog and at the same time teaching him that rest and relaxation are part of everyday life. Anyone who wants to get to know Sorpre should be willing to see not only his cheerful and enthusiastic side, but also the work that comes with him. For that, you get a dog who will probably be a loyal and committed partner to his human - a real accomplice for life. Back to our animals Become a sponsor

DE·Show original

About Sorpre

What life with Sorpre looks like

Sorpre is a large young adult dog waiting at Tierheim Koblenz in Koblenz.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sorpre, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sorpre?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Koblenz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sorpre on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sorpre if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Koblenz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sorpre already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sorpre isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Koblenz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sorpre and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
