Souse

Pointer · Female · Puppy · 6 months

Puppy girl Souse was found at only 2 months old with the hip broken due to being hit by a car in Lebanon. She underwent surgery and has made a full recovery. She currently resides in the rescuer’s home. She is now 4 months old and will be ready to travel when she will be circa 8 months old – January 2027. Souse is growing well and strong. She has put on some healthy weight since she was found. She sees the vet regularly and is fully up to speed with her vaccinations. She is a healthy pup. Her rescuer says that Souse is friendly, playful and affectionate with humans, dogs and cats. She’s smart, attentive and adaptable, doing wonderfully both in a pack and on her own. A happy, easy going girl with a lovely personality. She points, loves to sniff and is always excited to retrieve things. She hasn’t been tested in a hunting environment. Souse as been child, leash and cat tested. Microchip, passport and transport will be arranged once her new family has been found. Published29/09/2026

About Souse

What life with Souse looks like

Souse is a puppy/kitten pointer dog waiting at Pointers in Need in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Souse, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Souse?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pointers in Need handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Souse on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Souse if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pointers in Need will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Souse already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Souse isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pointers in Need early rather than rehoming privately; they know Souse and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
