Sox

Pomeranian · Male · Adult · 5 years

Meet lovely Sox, a friendly little guy with a big personality! Sox arrived at Battersea as a stray meaning we unfortunately do not have any information regarding his history. Sox treats everyone like a long lost friend and is always ready to say hi and receive all the fuss. He has been happy to make friends with everyone he's met on site. He has been a little nervous around intrusive handling and animated play with people so is looking to live with older teenagers if to live with children. Sox loves other dogs, perhaps a little too much! He is known to pester other dogs at their rear end and is pretty one track minded! He has been able to take a tell off but doesn't really have his listening ears on so will likely be too much for another dog in the home. He would love to meet other dogs regularly outside but may need some work on his recall. Sox has been quite confident here in London and taken all the loud noises in his stride! He could continue to live in the inner city and does not necessarily require a private garden so long as his new family can take him out regularly to toilet. Sox is a confident, fun-loving little man who is looking for his new family to shower him with all the love he deserves. He will make a wonderful companion! If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Sox, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest.

About Sox

What life with Sox looks like

Sox is a small adult pomeranian dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Sox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
