Spätzle

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Spätzle, a mixed breed dog, approximately 26 cm in size, born in February 2026, male/neutered. Location: Debrecen, Hungary. Lives with dogs? Compatible with cats? Unknown. Housebroken? Almost. Participation: 500.00 Euro. Spätzle - a little treasure looking for people with patience and heart. Spätzle, born in February 2026 and currently approximately 26 cm in size, unfortunately did not have a particularly beautiful start in life. He lived with a female dog, Galuska, in a family under poor conditions. When the family no longer wanted to keep both dogs, they were taken to a killing station. As soon as we learned about this, we took them both and brought them to safety. Spätzle initially encounters new people shyly and cautiously and needs time to gain trust. However, as soon as he realizes he is safe, he shows his wonderful nature: Spätzle is loving, friendly, affectionate, and likes to cuddle. His reserve comes from uncertainty - he is neither aggressive nor tries to bite. Although he does not know us yet, he has already warmed up and shows more trust every day. Spätzle gets along with other dogs. He is still practicing walking on a leash and is making daily progress. Housebreaking is also working well. We do not yet know how he reacts to children or cats; we would like to test this if necessary. We wish for Spätzle a loving, patient, and dog-experienced home that gives him security and lovingly-consistent guidance. A securely fenced garden would be nice, but it is not a must. Who will give this little treasure the time he needs to open his heart? NOTE: If you are interested in one of our dogs, we first need a self-disclosure from you. The corresponding questionnaire can be found in the respective dog's advertisement on our website www.tierschutz-pfote.de, which you can fill out online. We can arrange a meeting for interested parties and a possible

About Spätzle

What life with Spätzle looks like

Spätzle is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutz-Pfote e.V. in Lohmar.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Spätzle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Spätzle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz-Pfote e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Spätzle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Spätzle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz-Pfote e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Spätzle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Spätzle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz-Pfote e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Spätzle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
