Spider

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Adult · 10 years

Spider is a very handsome boy who loves nothing more than curling up on a dining room chair/sofa or a bed and getting snuggly. He adores scratches around his ears and under his chin and even his belly once he is comfortable with you. He loves exploring the outdoors and is a keen hunter but doesn’t bring you any presents as long as he is well fed. Spider has no known medical problems. Spider is being rehomed as part of our home to home scheme. This means we don’t undertake any official medical or behavioural assessments but we are supporting Spider’s owner to try and find him the perfect match. If we think you’ll make a good match, we will share your contact details with the current owner. They will be in touch if they would like to discuss the adoption further, and potentially arrange to meet.

About Spider

What life with Spider looks like

Spider is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at JSPCA — Jersey SPCA in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Spider, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Spider?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. JSPCA — Jersey SPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Spider on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Spider if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — JSPCA — Jersey SPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Spider already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Spider isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with JSPCA — Jersey SPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Spider and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
