Splitt

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

"Hi, my name is Splitt. ❤️ I am a little, sweet and curious girl who still thinks the world can be a bit scary, but also very exciting! If I get a little scared and hide, it doesn't last long before curiosity takes over, and I peek out again. Especially when there's food nearby... then I'm quick to show up! I'm actually quite food happy, and even treats from the hand taste super good. I really like other cats. Here in the foster home, I've become best friends with the cat Todd, and he is simply absolutely fantastic in my eyes. I have learned a lot from him, and I feel much safer when I have another cat around. Therefore, I would like a home where there is already a kind cat - that would make me feel safer and help me blossom further. Every day that passes, I become tougher and more secure. Maybe one day I will even let myself be petted and cuddled? I just need a little time, patience and love from someone who wants to give me the chance. Otherwise, I am a playful, active and exploring little lady. I am also house trained, so I already have good habits in place. Could you imagine giving me a safe and calm home, preferably with a cat friend? I look forward to meeting you!"

About Splitt

What life with Splitt looks like

Splitt is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter in Trollåsen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Splitt, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Splitt?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Splitt on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Splitt if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Splitt already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Splitt isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Splitt and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NB). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
