adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Sprotte has found her very own home! Her story: Heartbreaker Sprotte is a true treasure, a little dog with a big heart. Her black-and-light-brown fur gleams in the light, and her friendly, brown eyes radiate warmth and curiosity. Her glossy black nose and friendly face give her an unusually beautiful expression that instantly puts a smile on anyone's face. Sprotte is the embodiment of affection and joy, and she has so much love to give. Since the end of July, Sprotte has been in a loving foster family in Germany, and every day she surprises them with how quickly she learns and builds trust. From the shy street dog who was initially a bit unsure, she is becoming a cheerful companion with a very gentle and loving personality. Sprotte is now house-trained, walks up stairs without a problem, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. It's clear that she loves company – but she is still a bit cautious around men. In such moments, she finds a safe spot under the corner bench and grumbles softly to herself. But as soon as someone in the household strokes another dog, her curiosity wins out, and Sprotte comes cautiously over to try to earn a few cuddles. Driving and unfamiliar situations are still a small challenge for the little mouse, but she makes great progress every day and her courage grows week by week. Sprotte shows how much love and patience can achieve, and everyone is eager to see how she develops in the coming weeks. Originally, the little female dog was found in Romania, Baia Mare, as a stray on the street and was brought to safety. Sprotte is now neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and has an EU pet passport. Has the little heartbreaker already wrapped you around her little paw? We thank Anna C. for giving the little Sprotte her name and thus a personal identity on the occasion of your friend's birthday. Stand: 16.08.2025

About Sprotte

What life with Sprotte looks like

Sprotte is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sprotte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sprotte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sprotte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sprotte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sprotte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sprotte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sprotte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
