Adopt Stacey

Female

Fostered in Nottingham. Stacey is an absolute sweetheart – you will not find a better family pet than her! She is always happy and friendly, looking for cuddles and love. With her big smile she simply charms everyone who meets her. When she was young Stacey was caught in a catch-neuter-release program and was supposed to be released again. But while she was in the public shelter, the city council decided they wanted the dogs put down instead! Thankfully a local private shelter took Stacey in and saved her life. This nugget of gold has been overlooked in the shelter for years, perhaps because she has an issue with her hind legs. One leg is a bit shorter than the other and doesn’t function entirely normal as you can see in her videos below. She walks a little oddly but otherwise she is not very bothered and with supplements and good food she can live a good long life. Long term she may develop arthritis and need painkillers, but at the moment she is absolutely fine. We would love to find this beautiful girl a home so she does not have to grow old in the shelter. She is such a lovely girl and will make a wonderful addition to any family.Stacey is sweet and gentle with everyone she meets, she likes children and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated.

About Stacey

What life with Stacey looks like

Stacey is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Strays Without Borders in Skopje.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇲🇰Adopting from North Macedonia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stacey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stacey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Strays Without Borders handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stacey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stacey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Strays Without Borders will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stacey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stacey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Strays Without Borders early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stacey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
