Starsky

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Meet Starsky and Hutch, two utterly gorgeous fluffy brothers who are due to arrive with us on 4th July, when they will be around 4 months old. These boys really are something special. With their soft, fluffy coats, expressive little faces and very unusual colouring, they are the sort of puppies who make everyone stop and say, “Oh my goodness, who are they?” They are both incredibly cute, but they are not just pretty faces — they are sweet, friendly young boys with lovely temperaments and all the makings of wonderful family companions. Starsky and Hutch are typical young puppies: curious, playful, affectionate and ready to learn all about the world. They will need adopters who understand that puppies need time, patience, routine and gentle training to help them grow into confident, well-mannered adult dogs. They are brothers, but they are looking for separate homes, so they can each build their own confidence and bond fully with their new families. Each would be well suited to a loving home where they will get plenty of companionship, sensible socialisation and continued puppy guidance. We expect them to grow into medium-sized dogs, although as with all young rescue puppies, final size can never be guaranteed. They could potentially live with another friendly, well-balanced dog, provided introductions go well and the resident dog is happy to have a puppy in the home. Starsky and Hutch will arrive fully vaccinated and with comprehensive health checks, including: A Uranotest Quattro covering Leishmania infantum, Ehrlichia canis, Anaplasma, and the Dirofilaria immitis antigenA test for Canine BrucellosisTheir own Portuguese passports Starsky and Hutch are beautiful little boys who will bring a lot of joy, fun and fluff to the right homes. Most of our dogs have been found abandoned as young pups, discarded as unwanted litters, as is often the case in Portugal where neutering is not as common as in the UK. After rescue, all of our pups spend time in private shelters and foster homes, meaning they arrive happy, healthy and well socialised. UK Registered Charity Number 1183775

About Starsky

What life with Starsky looks like

Starsky is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs N Homes Rescue in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Starsky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Starsky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs N Homes Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Starsky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Starsky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs N Homes Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Starsky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Starsky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs N Homes Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Starsky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
