Staszek

Male · Adult · 6 years

Staszek is a larger breed, a strong dog with a golden heart. He is around 6 years old, weighing 23 kg and standing 50 cm. At first glance, he may appear imposing. He barks loudly and seems confident— but that’s just an act. After a short walk, it becomes clear what he’s really like. A sudden sound, a falling branch, and he reveals his softer side. He’s a “wolf in sheep’s clothing”— looks fierce, but underneath he’s a sensitive soul. Staszek isn’t the type of dog that will come up for a pat. Instead, he shows his trust in his own way— he relaxes in the presence of a caregiver, occasionally glancing to see if they’re still there, and in his crate, he subtly tilts his neck for scratching. And once you start… better not to stop, because Staszek will stubbornly hold out his paw until you give him another glance. He’s an energetic and strong dog who needs movement to release his emotions. He would do best with someone who enjoys active and long hikes with us in the great outdoors. He gets along well with other dogs, though sometimes he can be too enthusiastic in interactions. He’s not a trendy breed that draws attention at first glance— but he has something far more valuable inside—a golden heart. He just needs someone who will see that. We recommend him for adoption!

PL·Show original

Staszek to większych rozmiarów, silny pies o złotym sercu. To energiczny i silny psiak, który potrzebuje ruchu, by rozładować emocje. Polecamy do adopcji!

About Staszek

What life with Staszek looks like

Staszek is a adult dog waiting at Wesoly Kundelek in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Staszek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Staszek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wesoly Kundelek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Staszek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Staszek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wesoly Kundelek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Staszek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Staszek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wesoly Kundelek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Staszek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
