Adopt Stella

European Shorthair · Female · Adult · 8 years

Age: Born on 11/09/2020 Identification: 250 268 743 391 802 Physical Characteristics: Very pretty tigress with a nice plump figure, she is as cuddly as she is adorable. FIV/Felv tested negative. No diabetes. Periodontitis to treat when she is operable. A recent birth asthma identified (treatment needed daily). Spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Character: Stella is an adorable cat who will surely make you fall in love! She is the type to stay close to her human when they are at home, curious and attentive to their every move. She is a true clingy one who loves to rub against us while purring. As soon as we sit on the couch, we can be sure she will come to our laps to demand some cuddles! Very easy to live with, she is a really gentle cat, who has a lot of love to give… and to receive. Her favorite spot: a soft blanket ideally placed right next to you so that her paw is always in contact. Otherwise, her nest is her fortress of solitude for a peaceful sleep. Stella is also playful, especially since she has started to lose weight: she loves to be played with using bits of string (or any other moving object). She also loves her scratching post to stretch after a nap and sharpen her claws. Otherwise, as expected, she is a gourmet. She knows how to make her voice heard when it's time to eat. Once satisfied, she becomes calm and cuddly. However, she is never against trying human food. Always on the lookout for the slightest morsel, she can also show an astonishing flexibility to steal from your plate if you turn your back. History: Her previous family separated her due to the arrival of a first child. Ideal placement: In a loving home, available, preferably without another cat. Patience and rigor will be needed to continue her dietary balance in view of a gradual weight loss. If you have children (from 8 years old) who love cats that never shy away from cuddles, Stella is the ideal cat. I have never seen cats more placid in the face of hugs. A secured balcony would be a plus. Coordinates: Visible in foster care in Paris 20th arrondissement. Contact Karine by SMS after 19:00 or on weekends, by email, or through the web form.

About Stella

What life with Stella looks like

Stella is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 in Paris.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
