adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Sternchen has found her home! Her story: Delicate Beauty Seeks Patient Heart. The young Sternchen is a sensitive puppy, immediately captivating with her delicate nature. She shows some shyness at first but is easily touched and shows no signs of aggression. Currently, Sternchen lives together with her siblings at the our shelter and hopes to soon move into a loving home where she can experience safety, security, and trust. Visually, Sternchen is a beautiful female dog with fluffy, light brown fur. Her sweet button ears make her appear especially gentle. She could be a mixed breed of Labrador–Golden Retriever, often characterized by a loving and people-oriented temperament. Precisely determining this is not possible. At her current size of approximately 35–40 cm shoulder height and around 7 kg, Sternchen is a medium-sized puppy still in development, destined to grow into a pleasant family dog. She already shows social and compatible behavior when interacting with other dogs. At just 3.5 months old, Sternchen likely hasn't experienced life in a real home yet. Things like house training, leash manners, and basic commands are therefore still to be learned—best with people who gently explain the world to her and guide her through her learning process with confidence. Positive working dog training classes can be a wonderful support. Sternchen seeks sensitive people who enjoy giving a puppy trust, growing together, and experiencing many beautiful adventures—patiently, with love, and through shared learning. Is Sternchen the right companion for you? She travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and of course brings her EU pet passport with travel arrangements. Due to her young age, she is not yet spayed. An in-home foster would also be a wonderful first step into a loving life. Many thanks to Susann—she gave Sternchen her name and helped her take the first step into a new life. As of 14.01.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 14.01.2026

About Sternchen

What life with Sternchen looks like

Sternchen is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sternchen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sternchen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sternchen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sternchen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sternchen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sternchen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sternchen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
