Stevie

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Stevie is the only puppy of his mother who survived. Together, they were secured and brought to safety as part of a large sterilization action in the Gorj district. Since then, the little guy has been able to develop in peace and shows more and more what a great young dog is in him every day. Like every puppy of his age, Stevie is curious, playful and full of joy of discovery. He wants to get to know the world, gain new experiences and start his life with his people. At the same time, it should be considered that he has only been able to get to know very little so far and many things are completely new to him. Life in the house, everyday noises, walks on a leash, car rides or encounters with strangers and dogs will only gradually become part of Stevie's daily life. His future family should therefore have the joy of showing him the world with patience, understanding and loving guidance. Also, being alone must be built up gently. Young dogs need time to gain security and develop trust. That's why we wish for Stevie people who let him arrive at his own pace and don't overload him. In the coming months, Stevie will also go through the exciting time of puberty. A phase in which some of the things learned can be put to the test again. All the more important are people who accompany him lovingly and consistently and give him orientation. For Stevie, we wish for a home where he is welcome as a full-fledged family member and may belong for the next 14 to 15 years. People who laugh, learn, experience adventures and give him the security that every dog deserves. With time, love, patience and a good portion of humor, Stevie will grow into a wonderful companion. Who falls in love with the enchanting little Stevie and gives him a loving forever home? Stevie is vaccinated and chipped and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary check. Due to his age, he is not yet spayed. Departure possible from now! General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are regularly visited so that we can always reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us very much to convey a possibly good picture of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new processes and new impressions - can also show itself differently. This is quite normal and is part of every change process. Many dogs open up faster at home and show sides that were not visible in the shelter. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They should give an orientation and show how the dog presents himself in the shelter - and what potential is in him. We are convinced: With patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find his way and develop positively.

About Stevie

What life with Stevie looks like

Stevie is a large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stevie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stevie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stevie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stevie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Stevie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stevie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stevie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
