Adopt Stinki

Mixed Breed · Male

Hello, I am Stinki. Don't worry, I don't really stink. Well, except when I have to do a little pile in the cat litter box. Then I smell like a big tomcat, and that's kind of normal, right? But otherwise, I'm a really big, cuddly tomcat with lots of room to stretch out. Perfect for cuddling or just spreading out. Before, I spent a lot of time outside. I was skinny as a rail and had earned my life on the streets. Other tomcats were pretty mean to me back then, and I quickly learned that stress isn't for me. Better to just stay out of the way. That's what shaped me. I'm a tomcat who knows what I want. And I want a cozy, quiet home for myself. Other cats? They can stay outside. I don't like them much. But please don't misunderstand, I'm not aggressive. I'm just cautious. Still, I'm a real tomcat with instincts. Every day, I have to check my territory. Not to chase away other cats, for I wouldn't dare, but just to see who's there and make sure everything is in order. So I patrol, sniff around, and look around. If everything checks out, I curl up back on my sofa and enjoy life. I love to cuddle the most. I come to my people often, nuzzle my head against them, purr, and enjoy every pat. But I also know when I need my space. A little like a king guarding his realm, only that my realm is a warm spot on the sofa. Whoever adopts me gets not only a big, cuddly snuggle cat but also a loving type who loves life, especially when it's quiet, warm, and full of cuddles. And yes, sometimes there's a little pile in the cat litter box that smells. But that's just part of being a big, proud tomcat like me.

About Stinki

What life with Stinki looks like

Stinki is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Marktoberdorf in Marktoberdorf.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stinki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stinki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marktoberdorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stinki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stinki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marktoberdorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stinki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stinki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marktoberdorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stinki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
