Adopt Stjerne

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

The first step in the adoption process is the adoption questionnaire: The main stages of the entire process are described on our website: Stjerne is a young kitten with a calm temperament. She was rescued at the last minute along with her sister - before the worst frosts. With some lung murmurs, she was taken to a foster home, where she quickly recovered and started gaining weight. She is still learning to relate to humans, but from day to day she is becoming more open to touch - she really likes being stroked, but it's up to her when she feels like it. The presence of cat companions gives her a sense of security and confidence, and she is then more willing to interact with humans. Still, she keeps her distance and carefully builds trust. On the other hand, in relationships with other cats she feels like a fish in water! Stjerne loves playing and chasing. In this small body she has great reserves of energy, which she uses for playing with her sister. However, a feather toy can awaken a real hunter in her, and her unquestionable favorite spot is the radiator, the warmer the better. She has a huge appetite (especially for treats) and is growing by the day. We require windows and balconies/terraces to be secured according to foundation standards. We do not rehome cats to homes where people are away.

Wciąż jednak zachowuje dystans i ostrożnie buduje zaufanie. Stjerne uwielbia zabawy i gonitwy.

About Stjerne

What life with Stjerne looks like

Stjerne is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stjerne, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stjerne?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stjerne on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stjerne if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stjerne already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stjerne isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stjerne and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
