adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Strolch has found a home! His story: Strolch made it and was finally able to travel to a foster home. Now all he needs is one more thing to become truly happy: a family. Like many Romanian dogs, the handsome and playful Strolch arrived at our shelter without a history, picked up by dog catchers. Where he came from and what he had already experienced, we unfortunately do not know. But what we do know for sure is that he has adapted well to his foster home and has proven to be a real dream dog. With a shoulder height of about 47 cm, Strolch has a practical, medium size. He has short, black-and-white spotted fur, a slender, athletic figure, beautiful floppy ears, and with his friendly gaze from brown eyes, he is a particularly handsome male dog. Strolch is about 2 years old and has his whole life ahead of him. In his foster home, he shows himself to be extremely uncomplicated and easy-going. Only strangers, especially men, still make him a little afraid, and objects like firewood also make him retreat. Otherwise, he loves the company of people and enjoys being petted. He also gets along well with his fellow animals; he even shares the dog bed with the first-time mother. Strolch has a very loving and calm nature. Of course, he also likes to play with his fellow animals over the meadow, but he also quickly calms down and lies down when he comes into a café or restaurant. So far, loud noises, like on New Year's Eve, have not bothered him either. Unfortunately, Strolch has a temporary handicap, as he has an old fracture in his right hind leg, which will now be operated on. In the initial phase, he will need physiotherapy, but it is expected that he will be able to enjoy his life without limitations after that. We wish Strolch loving, active, and experienced adopters who will give him enough time to adjust to his new life. Lots of cuddles and mental stimulation with the young male dog, as well as plenty of movement and sufficient contact with fellow animals will certainly help him develop into a loyal and reliable companion for his new human family. Strolch will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas with an EU pet passport for his new home. We thank the namingsponsor Heidi F. for giving Strolch his fitting name and thus giving him his own identity. As of: 04.02.

Stand: 04.02.2025

About Strolch

What life with Strolch looks like

Strolch is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Strolch, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Strolch?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Strolch on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Strolch if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Strolch already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Strolch isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Strolch and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
