adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Strolch can stay forever! His story: Strolch has only been in his foster home in Munich since the end of January and has already become a real dream dog in a short time. This approximately two-year-old male dog, with a shoulder height of about 50 cm, shows a very pleasant mix of curiosity, calmness, and enthusiasm for life. Outside, Strolch is wonderfully playful and interested in his surroundings, while in the house, he is relaxed and balanced. Joggers, bicycles, or everyday distractions do not faze him; on a leash, he already walks well. He masters car rides without any problems. Strolch is very people-oriented and likes to be close to his trusted people. He clearly enjoys cuddles without being pushy. He gets along well with other dogs. The sweet puppy is house-trained, attentive, and learns quickly—especially when small treats are involved. This makes him a grateful partner for training and shared tasks. His slender, athletic build and his curly, slightly wiry fur suggest that a Schnauzer or Terrier mix might be in him. Originally, Strolch came from Zalau. There, he was found alone on the roadside in the middle of the forest, apparently abandoned, disoriented, and searching for food. His open and trusting nature is all the more remarkable. Strolch wants to be both physically and mentally challenged and wishes for people who enjoy being active with him, teaching him new things, and consistently but lovingly accompanying him. A visit to dog training classes could be a beautiful support. After just one week in the foster home, it is clear: Strolch is a roundly sympathetic, young puppy ready for his forever home and many shared adventures. Strolch is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. Of course, he also has his EU passport and is allowed to travel after a positive assessment. Do you like Strolch? Then contact us quickly and meet him in person. Thank you, Maren J., you gave Strolch his name and thus an identity. As of: 10.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 10.02.2026

About Strolch

What life with Strolch looks like

Strolch is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Strolch, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Strolch?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Strolch on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Strolch if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Strolch already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Strolch isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Strolch and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
