Suki

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 6 months

Suki, a beautiful and elegant cat, was born in April 2026 and spent the first weeks of her life outdoors. Fortunately, she was secured at around ten weeks old and has been living in a foster home since then. Initially, Suki was a shy kitten, unfamiliar with human contact. However, she has developed well and is making noticeable progress every day. She has gained a lot of trust, is very relaxed in the presence of people, and wants to be everywhere. With her curious nature, she observes everything carefully and goes on exciting adventures. When touched and stroked, Suki is still a bit cautious. After extensive play sessions, she now lets herself be gently stroked and clearly enjoys these quiet moments. She is still startled by new situations or loud noises, which is why her future family should have some patience and empathy. Due to her young age, she will certainly continue to make rapid progress with loving guidance. Playing is one of Suki's absolute favorite activities. She is full of energy, playful at her age, and enjoys every joint play session - especially when her humans participate. She lives with many other kittens at her foster home, is well integrated into the group, and gets along well with her feline friends. She also knows children from her foster home and likes to play with them. Since Suki has known her kitten friends at the foster home for a long time, she would like to move out with one of them and discover the big world. Suki is already chipped, vaccinated, and dewormed and is ready for the move to her new home. We wish Suki a home in a safe residential area with the possibility of outdoor access, as she has a great need for movement. If outdoor access is not possible, only a very spacious home with plenty of room to play is suitable.

About Suki

What life with Suki looks like

Suki is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren in Ibbenbüren.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Suki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Suki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Suki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Suki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Suki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Suki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren early rather than rehoming privately; they know Suki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
