Sunn

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Gender: female Age: born around October 2022 (approximate estimated date) Breed: mixed breed Size: medium (9.3 kg as of February 17, 2023) Date of arrival at the shelter: February 2023 Spayed: yes (on February 17, 2023) Vaccinated: yes Microchipped: yes Compatibility: okay with dogs, okay with cats, okay with children Temperament: shy Progress: August 2024: Sunn is no longer afraid of contact with her foster family; she sleeps on their bed and often asks for cuddles. July 2024: (according to her foster carer): A very sweet dog who loves other dogs but needs time to adjust because she’s very fearful. She lets herself be petted only by family members—and only when she decides so herself. It’s impossible to approach her with a leash, harness, or collar. Will the future family have some training ahead? Yes, plenty of time will be needed before she feels confident and manages to become fully domesticated. What kind of family profile is being sought (housing, environment, children, daily routine/outings)? A family that already has a dog and a fenced yard, since it’s currently impossible to put a leash on her. She gets along fine with cats—even though we don’t have any. She encounters them in the garden without showing any aggression. Does she get along well with other dogs (male and female)? Yes, another dog would be ideal to help her make progress. Does she get along with cats? In principle, she doesn’t chase them when she sees them outside. Is she house-trained? Does she know how to walk on a leash? Can she be left alone for a while without any worries (no barking, no destruction, no crying or anxiety)? She cries a bit at first, but there’s no destruction. Is she afraid of anything in particular (strangers, cars, loud noises, commotion, etc.)? She’s afraid of humans. Is she used to walking in the city? Does she respond to recall? Slightly. Does she have any specific health issues (illness or disability)? January 2024: Sunn is an adorable dog who enjoys company—whether with our own dog or with us. Sunn is food-motivated and doesn’t show resource guarding toward the other dog in the house. She’s playful! Sunn and our other dog spend a lot of time playing together. At the moment, she’s not yet manageable. For now, we’re not letting her out into the garden. Everything takes its time; right now, Sunn still needs to understand and learn that our hands don’t mean “bad.” __________ September 2023: Shy, she’s very thin—she needs to come home soon! History: found wandering, sister of OTONA and YAMI Facebook post on December 4, 2023 Contact: Spayed: yes Vaccinated: yes Microchipped: yes Compatibility: okay with dogs, okay with cats, okay with children Temperament: July 2024: (according to her foster carer): A very sweet dog who loves other dogs but needs time to adjust because she’s very fearful. About Sunn

What life with Sunn looks like

Sunn is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Remember Me France in France.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sunn, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sunn?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Remember Me France handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sunn on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sunn if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Remember Me France will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sunn already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sunn isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Remember Me France early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sunn and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
